Grossberg also found some of his subjects in Würzburg, as can be seen in this 1924 painting. As the title suggests, the artist focuses on the Grombühl district of Würzburg, located between the railway station and the vineyards. The four-storey corner house at the centre of the painting is accurately depicted, while the other buildings appear greatly simplified. Ernst-Reuter-Platz, a small park, is located at the bottom left of the picture.
As a recent photo shows, the corner building has hardly changed in the last 100 years.
