The collection is the heart of the museum.
It has grown through its history and is being continually expanded. The artefacts contained in it are usually sorted according to genre, period of their making and thematic subject. Various questions are connected with the collection’s history and its structure:
- Who collects and who does not?
- What is collected and what not?
- For whom is collecting undertaken?
- How can collecting be undertaken today and how could it be undertaken in the future?
- According to what principles are collecting and sorting undertaken? And how can sorting be done in new or different ways?
In this room artefacts are shown in unusual relations and proximities, independently of familiar orderings oriented toward period of their making, material or genres. With this the invitation is associated of approaching the collection with new ways of seeing and thinking.
