Museality refers to the characteristics or qualities that make a place a museum or an object a museum exhibit. It is about how something is presented, preserved and placed in a context that makes it recognisable as part of a collection or exhibition. These can be works of art, historical artefacts, scientific collections or even entire buildings and exhibition spaces.
