In the last room of the exhibition, the Von der Heydt Museum invites visitors to place the works of Picasso and Beckmann in a larger context of classical modernism and shows selected masterpieces from the museum collection. The Expressionist artist groups Brücke and Blauer Reiter are represented as well as the Cologne Progressives or works of New Objectivity, which clearly illustrate the diversity of artistic currents and styles of the early 20th century.
The modular furniture in the centre of the room invites visitors to linger, pause and enjoy art. Various participatory methods also enable a deeper engagement with the contents of the exhibition and the institution of the museum. Thank you for your visit and see you soon at the Von der Heydt Museum.
